Queen Elizabeth II
Buckingham Palace has announced the demise of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The State Funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II will be preceded by a period of Lying-in-State. Dates and further details of these events will be announced by the Royal Household in due course.
A period of National Mourning for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has now started. The period of National Mourning will continue until the end of the day of the State Funeral. The Royal Family will undertake a separate period of Royal Mourning, subject to the wishes of The King.

Bredon
St’ Giles church, Bredon church will be open all week from 9am to 6pm if you want to come, sit, pray or light a candle. There will be a Book of Condolence available too sign.
You can leave floral tributes in the churchyard by the Lych gate if you so wish.
On Sunday morning there will be a special service at 10.45am. This will not be a communion service and will be led by the Rev. Catherine Lack. All are welcome.

Proclamation of His Majesty King Charles III
Worcester
The proclamation of the accession of His Majesty King Charles III will be read by the High Sheriff of Worcestershire at The Guildhall, Worcester at 1pm on Sunday 11 September. Everyone is welcome to watch the proclamation outside The Guildhall.
This will be broadcast live in Cathedral Square, Worcester. You can also watch at home on YouTube.

Tewkesbury
Following the national proclamation, Cllr John Murphy, Mayor of Tewkesbury Borough, will read the local proclamation on Sunday, 11 September.
This will take place on the steps of the Public Service Centre on Gloucester Road at 2pm to members of the public and official invitees.
This proclamation marks the official announcement of King Charles III.
Books of condolence open to HM The Queen
Worcester
Books of condolence have been opened across Wychavon for people wishing to pay tribute to HM The Queen following news of her death.
The books of condolence will be available to sign during usual opening hours at the following locations until after the state funeral:
– Pershore Town Hall, 34 High Street, Pershore, WR10 1DS
– Pershore Abbey, Abbey Park, Church Walk, Pershore WR10 1BL
– The Almonry Museum, Abbey Gate, Evesham, WR11 4BQ
– Broadway Library, Leamington Road, Broadway, WR12 7DZ
– Droitwich Heritage and Information Centre, St Richard’s House, 22 Victoria Square, Droitwich, WR9 8DS.
There is also an online book of condolence available to sign at www.worcestershire.gov.uk and a national online book of condolence at www.royal.uk.
People are encouraged to donate to charity in memory of the service The Queen gave to her people rather than lay flowers. Details of suggested charities to donate to are available at www.royal.uk/charities-and-patronages.
Donations to Worcestershire Community Foundation at www.worcscf.org.uk are also encouraged.
Anybody wanting to lay floral tributes is asked to do so at the following locations:

– Memorial Garden (Stone Preaching Cross) at Abbey Park, Pershore Abbey, Church Row, Pershore, WR10 1DT.
– The flagpole outside The Almonry Museum, Abbey Gate, Evesham WR11 4BQ.
– Broadway War Memorial, 20 High St, Broadway WR12 7DP.
A local proclamation of the new monarch will take place outside the Civic Centre in Pershore at 3pm on Sunday, 11 September 2022. Members of the public are welcome to attend.

Tewkesbury
A Book of Condolence for Her Majesty the Queen is open and can can be signed at the Tewkesbury Borough Public Services Centre in Gloucester Road. Members of the public are welcome to lay floral tributes at the flagpole outside the centre.

A Book of Condolence is available in the Lady Chapel at Tewkesbury Abbey where you will be able to light a candle in memory of Her Majesty the Queen.
